Saturday morning just over 90 runners and walkers gathered in downtown Lincoln to participate in Main Street Lincoln's first-ever 5K.

The event, which was dubbed "Cruise into Lincoln," included some enormous prizes such as a cruise and a week's stay at the Biggest Loser resort in Chicago.

Everyone could sign up for the week in Chicago and runners could sign up for the cruise, regardless of where they finished in the race.

Joe Briseno addressed the group before the run.  He was in Boston, running in that marathon, the day of the tragic explosions. He talked abut his experience there.

Runners gather around the stage as Briseno speaks.

This little gal is all decked out, but check out the photos later in the day. As they near the finish line, mom is carrying all the gear!

Ready to run!

Among the many volunteers who helped guide the runners along their path was Mayor Keith Snyder. Also helping form the city was Alderwoman Jonie Tibbs
