Police seek information on suspicious fire at McEntire's Roofing

[June 10, 2013]  The Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Fire Department and the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal are investigating a suspicious fire at 1909 N. Kickapoo, McEntire's Roofing, that occurred early Saturday morning.

Two white males wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen in the area at the approximate time of the fire.

Anyone with information about this should call the Lincoln/Logan Crime Stoppers at 217-732-3000. There is a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

According to the Lincoln Fire Department, they were dispatched to the scene after a report of smoke coming from the eaves of the building. Inside the building they encountered both smoke and fire. The fire was put out and work began on removing the smoke from the building.

The damage from the fire included smoke damage to the McEntire portion of the building as well as the bar at the front of the building.

The estimated damage to the building is around $300,000.

The Lincoln Fire Department was assisted by the Atlanta Fire Department, Mount Pulaski Fire Protection District, Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District, Logan County Paramedic Association, Logan County Emergency Management Agency, Salvation Army, Logan County Auxiliary, Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Illinois State Police Crime Lab.
