Head Start is a federally funded preschool program that serves
income-eligible families and children between the ages of 3 and 5.
Early Head Start is a child development program that serves
income-eligible pregnant mothers as well as infants and toddlers to
age 3. In Logan County, Head Start provides center-based preschool
services, and Early Head Start provides home-based services.
All eligible children are welcome. Children do not have to have a
disability to qualify.
Additional services, including screenings and access to medical,
dental and vision services and community services, are what sets
Head Start apart from other child development and preschool
programs. Transportation is also available to children and families
in order to participate and receive full benefit from the program.
Head Start knows that parents are the first and most important
teachers of their children. Parents are welcomed as partners in the
Head Start experience.
