At this year's Relay For Life,
23 teams gathered in the parking lot area of Lincoln College's
Lincoln Center to spend 12 hours taking turns walking laps around a
track defined by more than 1,000 luminarias.
|
The evening began with the survivors lap, then moved on to
the caregivers lap and the kids lap.
The next organized lap of the evening was the team lap. Master of
ceremonies Steve Sauer introduced each team and read a brief
statement provided by the team.
As they were introduced, team members clapped and cheered, then
made their way to the starting line and did a lap as a united group.
