[June 25, 2013]  Racing action was canceled Friday night due to a cell of storms and looked to threaten the makeup race on Sunday. Skies were threatening but never spoiled the racing.

Track conditions were good, and the racing action was at its best. The Street Stock feature was a fantastic race. The 1M, driven by Andy Minett, came from his third-place starting position to take the lead from Brandon Kessinger in the 57, who started first but ended up not able to finish the race. Todd Smith in the 16 moved from his starting position of fifth to second.

Pro Late Models had a good showing for the car count in their class Sunday night. Nick Lyons in the 55 held off Nick Bauman in the B1 for the win. Lyons started second, behind Rick Skelton in the 2 car. Skelton wasn’t able to hold that position and ended up sixth when the checkered flag was waved. Evan Fink in the 1F had an impressive run, moving from his starting spot of ninth to third.

The Modified feature was another great race. Week after week this division has stiff competition and great racing. Brian Divley in the 29 won his second straight race at Lincoln Speedway. Starting on the pole, Divley took off and never let up. Running the high side for most of the race, he was still feeling the pressure put on by the 14 Cashless Racing car, driven by Brian Lynn. Lynn started fourth and finished second. Lynn also chose the high side and was trying to run the 29 down but was unable to catch him before the 20-lap feature ended. Another hard-hitter, T.D. Burger in the 32B, finished third. Allen Weisser was fourth and Richie Biswell fifth.

The 305 Sprints were at the track Sunday night. This up-and-coming class is just getting started in this area. Max Pozsgai came away with the checkered flag at the end of the night. Pozsgai started second, behind Paul Nienhiser in the 10K, and was able to maneuver around him and take the lead and the win.

In the Hornet division Dale Nelson in the 11A was in victory lane after starting seventh. Josh Smith finished second, and Matt Musgrove finished third after starting ninth.

This Friday at Lincoln Speedway the Dodge Raminator will put on a show for the fans, and Sunday is the time to come out for the Brandt Twin 60’s Summer Nationals race. Super Late models will be in action and Lincoln Speedway is featuring 60-cent hot dogs and 60-cent soda and water that night. Justin Allgaier will be there to race his Modified and will sign autographs from 3:30 to 5:30. For more details and admission prices, see www.lincolnspeedwayil.com.
