Austin VanTine receives CALI Award

[June 26, 2013]  COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Austin VanTine, Lake Ozark, Mo., received the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction Excellence for the Future Award at the University of Missouri School of Law.

The CALI Award is given to the highest scoring student in each law school class at many law schools throughout the country, including MU's law school.

"My mother has been instrumental in my success at Mizzou," said VanTine. "I am very appreciative of the support I have received from my entire family throughout my education."

VanTine graduated from School of the Osage in 2007. She is the daughter of Barbara and David Patterson, granddaughter of the late Harold and Bernadine Reiners of Lincoln, and daughter of the late Kent VanTine of Mason City.

VanTine is a 2013 Crahan Fellow, an honor that includes a fellowship and allows MU law students to serve as judicial clerks to judges of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. She is a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society and was a finalist in the Illinois Moot Court Competition, a competition in which first-year law students compete in oral arguments. VanTine was named to the law school's dean's list for the fall 2012 semester.
