Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[March 01, 2013]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were higher on Thursday afternoon.

Soybean futures gained strength from higher than expected weekly export sales figures for soybeans and soybean meal.

The USDA also announced the sale of 123,000 tonnes of US soybeans to China for the 2013-2014 crop year.

Corn also was supported by strong weekly export sales figures and cash market.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 8 to 12 cents higher at 7.07-7.20.

Soybean bids were 7 to 9 cents higher at 14.46-14.59.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 7 to 9 cents higher at 7.16-7.27.

Soybean bids were up 9 to 16 cents at 14.64-14.79.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 7 to 8 cents higher at 7.08-7.40.

Soybean bids were 13 cents higher at 14.71-14.94.

Wheat bids were 3 to 4 cents higher at 7.02-7.23.
