[March 02, 2013]  PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association, advocating for motorcyclists' freedoms, honored four Illinois congressmen -- U.S. Reps. Randy Hultgren, Adam Kinzinger, Aaron Schock and John Shimkus -- on Thursday for their support of motorcyclists during the just-completed 112th Congress.

Hultgren, Kinzinger, Schock and Shimkus were singled out for the AMA Government Relations Department "Supporter" award for their outstanding efforts to support motorcyclists and motorcycling. The congressmen were praised for the actions they took on a variety of issues ranging from responsible motorized recreation to the freedoms enjoyed by street riders.

"Thanks to the outstanding efforts of Reps. Hultgren, Kinzinger, Schock and Shimkus during the 112th Congress, and the efforts of others, motorcyclists continue to enjoy a variety of freedoms related to their sport and pastime that were under attack," said Wayne Allard, vice president for government relations for the American Motorcyclist Association and a former U.S. senator and U.S. representative from Colorado.

"The representatives' constituents should be proud of them for their public service and for their support of the American motorcyclist and the freedom those Americans enjoy," Allard said.
