[March 04, 2013]  NORMAL -- Illinois State senior defensive tackle Shelby Harris has been dismissed from the Redbird football program for conduct detrimental to the team, head coach Brock Spack announced Monday.

Spack will have no further comment on Harris' dismissal.

Harris started all 13 games for the Redbirds on the defensive line in 2012 and was an All-Missouri Valley Football Conference First-Team selection, after he recorded 85 tackles, seven sacks and 16 tackles for loss on the season. In total, he played in 33 games for the Redbirds, after transferring from Wisconsin prior to the 2010 season.
