[March 04, 2013]  CHAMPAIGN -- The Lincoln College men's basketball team traveled to Parkland College on Saturday for their final regular-season game.

The Lynx jumped out to an early 10-point lead in the first half, led by some great early effort by Andrew Jordan and Avery Perry. Parkland stormed back to cut the Lynx lead to 31-28 at the half.

The second half was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. Parkland ousted Lincoln in the second half by a score of 61-58.

The Lynx were led by JoVaughn Gaines and Aaron Simpson with 13 points each, while Andrew Jordan and Avery Perry chipped in 12 and 10 respectively.

The Lynx look to get things turned around heading into the Region 24 tournament, starting on Friday. They will play at John Wood in Quincy against rival Illinois Central College. The winner of that game moves on to play the No. 1 seed, Rend Lake.
