Alan J. John, 59, of Lincoln, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his
home.

Alan J. John, 59, of Lincoln, passed away March 18, 2013
at his home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 at
Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services
will follow at 7PM also on Friday evening at the funeral
home.
Alan was born February 9, 1954, the son of Archie and Rose
(Showalter) John. He married Marlene Brown on May 18, 1984.

He proudly served his country in the United States
Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln. Alan was
a corrections officer at Logan Correctional for 16 years.
Surviving are: his wife Marlene John of Lincoln, his
daughters Amy Marie John-Chapman (Matt) of Lincoln, Nikki Lee Edwards of
Springfield, and Nikki J. Lahey (Carey) of Springfield, 5 grandchildren, 3 great
grandchildren, sister Pam Mosher of Oregon and sister Starlet Tangman of Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Skye Edwards.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral
home.
