The Lynx got off to a good start in the first game, winning 10-3
with a great overall game. In game two, Lincoln lost 2-1 in 11
innings, but had a great pitching performance from freshman Cody
Bolen (Hartem), who went nine innings, giving up only one run.
Lincoln did get out of a bases-loaded, no-out situation with
Lincoln Land's third, fourth and fifth hitters up in the 10th on
a strikeout, strikeout and 4-3 groundout.
In games three and four on Saturday, the Lynx bats stayed
asleep, with a total of 11 hits on the day as LC lost 6-1 and
2-0. Andrew Bietenduval (Cincinnati, Ohio) had a complete-game
performance.
"Our pitching and defense was outstanding all week, but our
offense could not come up with any run support after game one,"
said LC head coach Tony Thomas.
The Lincoln College games Wednesday and Thursday have been
canceled.
