KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Lincoln Christian
University's baseball team went up against NCCAA Division II No.

second stop on their weeklong road trip. Florida Christian (11-15)
controlled the game throughout and pulled away to win 15-2.

LCU (4-9) jumped out to an early one-run lead in the top of the
first inning. From there on out, the game was controlled by Florida
Christian as they scored at least one run in every inning except the
sixth. LCU started sophomore Micah Wolfe (Mattoon, University of
Northwestern Ohio) on the mound, but Wolfe had trouble containing
Florida Christian as he gave up 10 earned runs in his 3 2/3 innings
pitched. Florida Christian had their biggest inning in the fourth,
when they rattled off seven runs, forcing LCU head coach Chris
Headrick to bring in sophomore pitcher Joey Burge (Lincoln, John
Wood CC) as the reliever. On the game, Florida Christian dominated
the hits category as they had 14 hits compared with LCU's two. LCU
also committed three errors compared with Florida's one.
The two bright spots in the game for LCU were provided by
sophomore Landon Liga (St. James, N.Y., Smithtown, N.Y.) and senior
Justin Walen (Shelbyville, Shelbyville High). Liga went 1 for 2 from
the plate, with that one hit being a double. Liga also scored LCU's
two runs. Walen came in toward the end of the game and pitched a
scoreless last inning, something that had not been done up to that
point.
For Florida Christian, freshman pitcher Angel Domenech (American
High) received the start and the win as he went four innings, giving
up no earned runs and striking out 10 of the 12 batters he faced.

LCU will finish their road trip in Knoxville, Tenn., when
they take on Johnson University (0-8) on Saturday in a
doubleheader that starts with the first pitch at noon Eastern
time.
