Lincoln- Guy E. "Gene" Jackson, 66, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 5:50 p.m.

Gene was born on December 8, 1946 in Lincoln the son of Guy Allen and Ruby Mae Jackson Jackson.

They preceded him in death.

Gene graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 in which time he served in Vietnam.

He also worked at Myers Industries for 23 years and 3 years for Advanced Carpet Cleaning. He really enjoyed watching his Sprint Cars and Auto Races with his friends.

Gene married Linda L. Brookshier on April 7, 1977.

Surviving are his wife, Daughter: Wendy Lee, Son: Craig E. Jackson of Yorktown, Texas, Sister: Patricia Jenkins of St. Charles, Mo., and three nephews, their wives and children of St. Louis, five grandchildren.

Burial will be at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton, Illinois.

Peasley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
