The annual plant sale by the Master Gardeners was another great success on Saturday. A long line formed outside the Logan County Fairgrounds barn before the 9 a.m. opening. But once people were inside, plants were easy to view and choose. Buyers had a wide variety of plants to choose from, both common and not-so-common, such as pineapple heirloom tomatoes, flowering perennials and foliage, a few fruits and shrubberies; all looking very healthy with a promise of good things to come.

Checkout was well-organized and swift, so people could get home and still have a little time left for planting their new greenies on their Saturday morning time off.

The event gives the gardeners opportunity to share their favorite divided plants, plus grow some plants from seed for the sale. The sale provides a little cash for the many plant beautification projects (more growing fun) that the gardeners do around the community.

Plenty of assistance was available for those buying by the wagonload.

Buying and checkout was swift, with most plants claimed in the first hour.

Color-coded stakes and easily seen charts made knowing the prices easy.

Two petunias and a green plant in a wagon wait for checkout.
