[May 23, 2013]  EAST AURORA, N.Y. (AP) -- Toy maker Fisher-Price says it's moving or eliminating roughly 100 jobs from its New York operations as part of restructuring by parent company Mattel Inc.

The majority of jobs will be reassigned to Mattel's El Segundo, Calif., headquarters. Fisher-Price says workers have been offered relocation packages but some received layoff notices.

Most of the affected employees work at Fisher-Price's headquarters in East Aurora, N.Y., near Buffalo. The rest are in New York City.

Fisher-Price makes Little People and Power Wheels. A company spokeswoman says the cuts don't affect employees in toy design and development at the 900-employee East Aurora campus.

The moves are part of a Mattel reorganization that has included creation of a North America Division to work more closely with retailers in the United States and Canada.
