[November 02, 2013]  NEW YORK (AP) -- JPMorgan Chase says that the Justice Department and some authorities in other jurisdictions are looking into its referral hiring practices in Hong Kong.

The bank said in a regulatory filing on Friday that the Justice Department requested documents related to the hiring practices. The New York company previously received a similar request from the Securities and Exchange Commission's enforcement division.

JPMorgan said that it is cooperating with the SEC and Justice Department investigations and responding to inquiries made by other authorities.

JPMorgan also said in the filing it has received requests from various government authorities for information related to its foreign exchange trading business. JPMorgan Chase & Co. said that those investigations are still in the early stages and that it's cooperating with the appropriate authorities.
