Sunday, an annual event that is always a clear reminder that the holidays are upon us took place: the Zonta Turkey Dinner. The time-honored, festive event, made so by the number of people attending each year, took place at Lincoln Community High School.

As always, there were plenty of friends and neighbors passing one another. Some stopped to say hello, and others stopped a little longer in order to catch up a bit.

aroma of the turkey and dressing that awaited them.

As always, whether dining in or getting carryout, the diners were waited
on with a smile ...

... and quick attendance by the many Zontans out this day.

In the cafeteria, tables filled, emptied and were cleaned, with hundreds
enjoying the traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Now in its 49th year, the annual dinner helps fund health care scholarships
for local students.

Scholarship application information comes out around the end of January.
