Saturday morning, the Lincoln Park District hosted a basketball tournament for Special Olympics.

This was a game day for central regional Special Olympics teams. It was an opportunity to be paired up with other teams from the region to get two of the three required games prior to entering the Special Olympics Illinois district basketball competition.

There were 16 teams entered in the tournament. Teams came from Lincoln, Decatur, Danville, Peoria, Springfield and Effingham.

Ryan Curry and the Lincoln Park District Special Olympics teams hosted the tournament.

Many of the volunteer referees and scorekeepers were from Lincoln High School.
