WLB defends home court vs. Mount Pulaski

[November 09, 2013]  West Lincoln-Broadwell boys hosted Mount Pulaski on Thursday in junior high basketball.

In the seventh-grade contest, WLB (2-1) defeated Mount Pulaski 48-20. Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 17 for the Wolverines. Also scoring for WLB were Justin Long with 10, Draden Pozgai with eight, Blain Robbins with six, Payton Batley with three, and two points each from Kameron Whiteman and Lucas Konczyk.

The Bruins were led by Branden Kretzinger and Jonathan Sheehorn with six points each, while Tanner Farris contributed four.

In the eighth-grade game, WLB (3-0) held off the Bruins 39-37. Jack Eimer led the Wolverines with 17 points, and Zack Morris added 12 in the victory. Also scoring for WLB were Kaden Froebe with six and Carter McCraith and Blake Jones with two each.

Seth Huff led all scorers with 18 in the loss. Mount Pulaski also received contributions from Peyton Taylor with nine, Dixon Aylesworth with eight and Wyatt Luckhart with two.

WLB was scheduled to play again Friday in the round-robin tournament at Carroll Catholic with games versus Illini Central. Following the seventh-grade game, the eighth-grade Wolverine squad brought their 2-0 tournament record to face the Cougars in the championship game.
