Monday, the local Bonanza
restaurant served up a free buffet to all veterans in appreciation
for their service to our country.
This year, the annual buffet
offered a new special feature. Several of the community's
local Scouts came out to perform various tasks for the veterans who
were dining.
The warm welcome began at the
door with a group of Scouts who opened and held the door while
everyone, not just veterans, came into the restaurant.
At the register, veterans went
through the line and collected their silver and drink glasses. Then the
Scouts grabbed up their trays and carried them to the
diners' respective tables.
While some were serving, others
were helping out by clearing. Grabbing up dish tubs, they
quickly and effectively bused tables.
