[November 21, 2013]  The Lincoln College wrestling team is ranked second in the NJCAA preseason national rankings. The Lynx are tied in the rankings with North Idaho Community College.

Leading the way for the Lynx is sophomore DeQuence Goodman of Chicago. Goodman is ranked first at heavyweight after finishing third in the 2013 national tournament.

Joining Goodman in the rankings are sophomores Archie Williams, Darius Henderson, Luke Dunn and Stephon Rudicil. Williams, from Champaign, is ranked fourth at 174 pounds after placing seventh in last year's national tournament. Henderson, from Rock Island, is ranked sixth at 141 pounds. Dunn, from Monticello, is ranked second at 157 pounds, and Rudicil, from Bloomington, is ranked second at 184 pounds.

"It's nice for our program and team to be ranked second in the country, but preseason rankings don't mean a whole lot," says Steven Bradley, the Lynx head coach. "We have a lot of talented athletes on this year's squad. We still need to finalize what weight classes these guys will end up. We still have a lot of work to do as a team, and we need to continue to get better every day. If we can do this, then at the end of the year, hopefully we will be fighting for a national title."

The Lynx are 2-0 in the early part of the season and will travel to St. Charles, Mo., this weekend to compete in the Lindenwood Open.

The national tournament will be Feb. 28 and March 1 in Spokane, Wash.
