CEL splits pair with Christ the King

[November 23, 2013]  Chester-East Lincoln boys split a pair of games Thursday with Christ the King from Springfield.

In the seventh-grade game, the Panthers came up short, losing 40-14. Nate Arnold led the scoring with seven points and four rebounds. Nick Toft scored three, and Dean Harris and Thomas Morris added two points each. Xavier Miller grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

The eighth-grade Panthers used a balanced attack in a dominant performance, winning 54-27. Isaiah Bowers led the attack with 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight steals. Josh Vinson had 12 points, three assists and five rebounds. Sam Birnbaum had nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Jordan Jacobs added two points, four assists, four steals and four rebounds. Will Ewald rounded out the scoring with six points and one steal. With the win, the Panthers have a 7-0 record on the year

CEL hosts Heyworth on Tuesday night at 5:30 and 6:45.
