[October 09, 2013]  The Lincoln Christian University volleyball team hosted a Saturday afternoon tri-match that saw Indiana University-Northwest and Maranatha Baptist Bible College come to town.

Against Indiana in the first match, LCU won in three straight sets with scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 25-17. This was LCU's second win over IU-NW, with the previous win in three sets earlier in the season.

Leading the way for LCU was freshman Erin Taylor (Noble/West Richland High), who recorded 13 kills. Junior libero Emma Donnelly (Clinton/Clinton High) recorded 18 digs on the match.

In the second match, LCU faced off against Maranatha and struggled, losing in three sets with scores of 17-25, 18-25 and 16-25. Maranatha controlled the match from the beginning, never allowing LCU to get into a groove.

Alicia Carson (Gobles, Mich./Bloomingdale High) led with the way with nine kills, while senior setter Hannah Taylor (Mishawaka, Ind./Jimtown High) recorded 29 assists.

LCU will return to action on Tuesday, when they play host to Greenville College at 7 p.m.
