In set three the Lady Lynx found their rhythm and never trailed on their way to a 25-16 win. The fourth set saw Lincoln jump out to an early lead, but they were unable to sustain the momentum and lost the set 20-25.

Coach Mark Tippett commented: "I was proud of the effort we brought to the match tonight. We played very hard on defense, and our offense continued to improve. We lost to Sandburg in three sets the first week of the season and the scores were not close. Tonight was a much different story as we were able to compete with them in each set and had our chances to win the match. Serving errors cost us set two, which is frustrating, but the good news is that our team has improved our overall play to the point that we could be competitive against an opponent that just a month ago we lost to in straight sets."

Lincoln is now 11-14 on the season.

Lincoln plays at Southwestern Illinois College on Thursday.
