The group of 43 students split into two smaller groups after breakfast.

 

Firefighter Robert Wood prepares to demonstrate to the kids how he gets ready to go to a fire. The suit and equipment he puts on weighs about 80 pounds.

The pants and boots go on in one motion.
 

Then he adds the jacket.

Next comes the protective hood.
