Tuesday morning 43 students from Northwest School were invited to the Lincoln Fire Department station for breakfast. The breakfast was a part of the department's monthlong emphasis on fire safety and prevention.

The fire department invites a different group of third-grade students each year. In addition, firefighters will visit each of the schools in Lincoln during October, offering class time instruction to children in kindergarten through third grade.

Topping off with a little syrup.

And it is a "thumbs-up" breakfast at the firehouse.
