Girl Scout Troop 6603 recently visited the Lincoln Animal Hospital.

Dr. Stephanie Deneke did an amazing job presenting the hospital to the Girl Scouts. They saw X-rays of animals' broken bones, pregnant puppies and objects animals had swallowed. She also showed them tapeworms, larvae, fleas and more. She walked them around each exam room, explaining different machines and reasons she uses the exam rooms. She also showed the pharmacy area and explained how some of the medicine is the same for animals and humans, but lots of medicines are different. The girls were able to hold a couple of kitties and pet a couple of dogs. The Scouts left the hospital as even bigger animal lovers!

As a thank-you, the girls braided dog toys at the meeting prior to the visit. Thanks to Dr. Deneke's help, the Scouts -- Daisies, Brownies and Juniors -- earned a variety of animal badges.

Girl Scout Troop 6603 is led by Mrs. Joslyn Mathon.
