[October 15, 2013]  McLEAN -- Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove will host its annual "Autumn Celebration" on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visit the pumpkin patch and choose your favorite to take home and carve, or stop by and decorate it at the pumpkin salon. Enjoy live music, fall color walks, a scarecrow factory and other entertainment with an autumn theme. Children will delight in old-fashioned fun like bobbing for pumpkins and pumpkin bowling. Step back in time to visit a 1750s trading post and frontiersman's camp, and meet other historical re-enactors.

Explore booths featuring handmade, nature-inspired items. Watch the Illinois Valley Blacksmiths and Central Illinois Woodturners demonstrate their skills.

Indulge in seasonal treats, roast marshmallows at the campfire, tour the Sugar Grove Observatory, and explore over 7 miles of hiking trails on an autumn day.
