[October 16, 2013]  SPRINGFIELD -- Families are invited to come in costume and enjoy the second annual "Spooktacular Evening with Abe" on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in downtown Springfield.

The "Spooktacular Evening" is suitable for all ages and includes historical characters "haunting" the exhibit journeys, special eerie lighting and music, and spooky storytelling in Union Theater. There's also a kids' costume contest with prizes, a scavenger hunt, crafts and games, and a special showing of "Ghosts of the Library."

Refreshments will be provided, and the museum's gift shop will be open during the evening.

Parents should note that 8-9 p.m. will be enhanced for a slightly older audience.

The cost is $10 per family. Tickets must be purchased by calling 217-558-8934 or visiting www.presidentlincoln.illinois.gov.

Children must be accompanied by adults, and adults in costume are asked to refrain from wearing masks or hoods.
