Logan County sheriff seeks info on attempted abduction

[October 17, 2013]  Saturday at 11:49 a.m., the Logan County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a possible attempted child abduction that occurred in New Holland. Units responding were advised of the following description of the suspect:

The suspect was described as an older white male, approximately 5-foot-11, white hair, with a large belly and wearing a black shirt. He was driving a small, dark red passenger vehicle.

Witness accounts state that the person approached two female juveniles, asking them to assist him in locating a lost puppy. The female juveniles fled. Witness accounts state that he re-entered the vehicle and fled west toward Mason City.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at 217-732-4159.
