[October 19, 2013]  MINIER -- The concert choir of Concordia University Chicago will perform in Minier on Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. while on an annual fall concert tour. The Kapelle concert will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 101 E. Garfield.

The concert program will follow the theme of "Grant Us Peace" and will include a variety of pieces programmed for wide audience appeal.

Kapelle is the premier choral ensemble of Concordia University. Chosen by audition, the choir prepares a variety of music for local and national audiences. At Christmas, Kapelle presents a "Service of Lessons and Carols," and each spring the choir goes on a 10-day tour that has taken them to all regions of the United States. Additionally, Kapelle embarks on an international tour every four years. The choir has performed internationally in Europe and South America, including Finland, France, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Chile and Argentina. Kapelle has also produced six recordings.

The Kapelle is conducted by Dr. Charles P. Brown, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Concordia University Chicago.
