Saturday morning, one of the first bright spots of the day was the 5K Harvest Run that took place in conjunction with the Harvest of Talents event going on at Lincoln Christian Church.

The run began on Hamilton Street at the corner of Pekin and made its way around the town.

Local running sensation Jackson Johnson, dressed in cartoon attire, warms up for the chilly morning 5K run/walk. After winning, Johnson said he just wanted to have some fun with this run.

Runners line up and get ready for the start of the race.

And they're off!

The event was open to runners and walkers. It was a crisp morning, which led to many coming inside at the church for warm food and drink after their morning of exercise.
