[October 28, 2013]      Send a link to a friend This must have been a record
year for trick-or-treaters with the mayor. At Latham Park, the
lawn from the corner of Pekin and McLean was packed with kids and
parents all the way back to the bandstand. When the parade around
town began, the line was so long, one had to wonder if it was ever
going to end. The variety of costumes was
almost as numerous as the kids themselves. Children arrived in
uniforms of  Minnie Mouse, Scooby-Doo, princesses, Dorothy
from the "Wizard of Oz," fiendish ghouls, the "Cat in the Hat," cowboys,
witches and one very odd green glob of goo.
