WILLIAMSVILLE-James Edward "Jim" Peifer, 59, of Williamsville went to heaven healthy and whole on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Sugar Creek Dementia Special Care in Normal, IL, following a long battle with frontotemporal dementia.

He was born on July 14, 1954 at St. Clara's Hospital in Lincoln, IL, the son of Vincent and Jean Warrens Peifer who both preceded him in death. He married Angela (Angie) Fowler on November 23, 1991 at Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Sherman, IL.

He is survived by his wife, his siblings Tom (Patty) Peifer, Lincoln; Mary Peifer (Jim Runyon), Peoria; Bob (Michelle) Peifer, Wildwood, MO; Ann (Marvin) Mosier, Colfax; Tim Peifer (fiancée Michelle Fulton), Springfield; and 14 nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews who loved "Uncle Jimmy" very, very much; and seven cousins.

Jim attended Carroll Catholic Grade School and was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School.

He was a lifelong Logan County farmer and was proud to have worked with his dad and brother Tom on the farm that has been in their family for well over a century. Jim also raised purebred champion Suffolk sheep and had one of the premier herds in the country.

Jim was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish, Lincoln, IL and the Knights of Columbus.

He and his wife loved to spend time at the beach and visited many of the Caribbean Islands, as well as their vacation home in Indian Shores, FL. Jim loved people and never met a stranger. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

Services for Jim will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church of Lincoln with Rev. Claude Peifer officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. led by Rev. James Stuenkel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln.
