"In heat like this, the times do not matter as much as the
effort and desire to compete," said Lincoln coach Brian Herron.
"Tonight I saw a lot of effort and desire, so I am pretty happy.
This is a complete rebuild year on both the men's and women's
side. If they all continue to work hard and push each other
every day, I can see them dramatically improving."
The Lynx will next compete on Friday at the Walt Crawford Invite,
hosted by Eastern Illinois University. The women's 5K starts at 4:45
p.m., and the men's 8K starts at 5:30.
