[September 04, 2013]  BLOOMINGTON -- Vehicles of all styles and vintages are welcome to join the third annual "Cruise-In at the Mansion" at the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site on Saturday.

Car owners can participate free of charge. There won't be any judging or trophies -- just a day of enjoying beautiful cars -- but the first 200 participants will receive dashboard plaques.

Visitors can admire the cars and stroll the grounds of the 1870s Victorian mansion from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The suggested donation is $5 for adults or $10 for the entire family, with proceeds going to the David Davis Mansion Foundation.

The auto show is sponsored by the Car Community Automobile Club. Food concessions will be offered by St. Mary's Boy Scout Troop 20, and ice cream will be provided by Schwan's Quality Foods. There will be music by the band Protégé, thanks to sponsorship by Bill and Marie Schwartz and Don and Cindy Kopack. Event T-shirts will be printed on-site by Rutman Screenprinting.

The David Davis Mansion, administered by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, was built in 1872 and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for public tours. The David Davis Mansion Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supporting education, preservation and acquisition programs for the historic home.
