The next series of volunteer training programs will start Sept. 19
with a two-hour session, beginning at 5:30 p.m., that will acquaint
people with the volunteer opportunities available and begin teaching
attendees what they need to know about the library and museum. The
meeting will be in the library's Multi-Purpose Room. Volunteers
can help as informational guides, bus greeters and assistants in the
museum's children's section, Mrs. Lincoln's Attic. Volunteers also
assist in the Oral History Department, Papers of Abraham Lincoln,
the library reading room and more.
Volunteers will be asked to attend three additional training
sessions on Thursdays: Oct. 3, 10 and 17. Each of these sessions
will start at 5:30 p.m. and last approximately three hours.
To register, contact Jeremy Carrell, director of volunteer
services, at 217-558-8984.
