Charles Huffer

[September 11, 2013]  LINCOLN -- Charles Everett Huffer, 80, of Lincoln, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at 12:58 p.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

LINCOLN-Charles Everett Huffer, 80, of Lincoln died at 12:58 p.m. September 9, 2013 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Charles was born July 23, 1933 in Waynesville, IL the son of Everett Paul and Mary Theresa Krenkel Huffer. He married Arlene Mae Hoffmeister May 21, 1960 in Danville, IL and she preceded him in death June 25, 1980. He then married June Limback Eeten October 22, 1988 in Lincoln and she survives in Lincoln.

He is also survived by his children: Jeff (Patty) Huffer of Lincoln; Suzie (Mike) Maxheimer of Chestnut; and Sherri (Corey) Clayton of Sherman; two sisters: Mary Ellen Bristow of Lincoln; Barbara Sue (Richard) Marcotte of South Carolina; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.

Charles retired from Eaton Corp as a Quality Control Inspector. He served in the U.S. Air Force; was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #263.

Services for Charles will be Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln with Rev. Thomas Kamprath officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Lincoln American Legion Post #263. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorials may be given in his memory to the American Legion Post #263, American Cancer Society or the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln.
