After controlling possession most of the first half, the Railers tied
the score at 1-1 with a goal by Grant Cooper, assisted by William
Armbruster, just before the break.
In the second half, both teams gave the fans an exciting match as
there were several runs at the goal on each end. Cooper scored his
second goal of the match, which proved to be the game-winner, with
18 minutes to play. Once again, Armbruster was the assist man,
sending a terrific ball through to the sprinting Cooper, who buried
the shot.
In the goal, Kevin Barker made a terrific diving save with 7
minutes left in the game to preserve the victory. Barker ended the
game with four saves.

"It was by far our best game so far this season," said LCHS head
coach Tim Stuckey. "We played hard for the entire 80 minutes, and
the guys deserved the win. Our defense, midfield and forwards all
played well, and the guys should be proud of their effort."
The Railers evened their record to 3-3-1, and they are 2-1 in the
Central State Eight. They next travel to Springfield on Tuesday to
take on Springfield High.
