Over the weekend the Lincoln Futbol Club hosted their second annual Route 66 Shootout at the complex behind the Lincoln Wal-Mart.

As expected, crowds turned out for the event, with dozens of teams coming to participate in the tournament and bringing with them family, friends and fans.

For anyone who has not gone out to the complex, it is worth the trip. It is laid out so that traffic can travel one way only, all around the complex, gaining close parking to the fields where particular teams are playing. The grounds are well-kept, with every inch mowed and looking sharp.

Over the weekend there were games going on at every field all at once. On the south side of the complex were vendors of sports equipment, food trucks and more. Cars filled all the spaces around the complex, and families gathered and watched their kids play the game they have come to love.
