[September 20, 2013]  CARLINVILLE -- The Lincoln Christian University men's and women's soccer teams traveled to Blackburn College, an NCAA Division III school, Wednesday afternoon. Both teams came away disappointed, as the LCU men's team lost 6-0 and the women's team lost 9-0.

In the men's game, LCU started out controlling the ball and playing even with Blackburn for the first 20 minutes. However, Blackburn was finally able to find the back of the net, scoring two goals going into halftime. In the second half, it was all Blackburn, as they found the goal four more times to run away with the victory.

LCU freshman goalie David Lucas (Hebron, Ind./Hebron High) started his first game at goalie, as junior Logan Arney (Effingham/Effingham High) was out due to an injury sustained in the previous game. Lucas was able to record nine saves on the day.

In the women's game, Blackburn was in control from the start with offensive possessions and setting the tempo. At halftime, LCU was down 6-0; however, they were able to make adjustments as they allowed only three goals in the second half.

Senior goalie Ashlan Rose (Chatham/Glenwood High) recorded an impressive 22 saves on the night.
