[September 20, 2013]  MIDDLETOWN -- Geraldine Mae "Deany" Baker, 69, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at home.

Geraldine Mae "Deany" Baker, 69, of Middletown, passed away September 18, 2013 at home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Monday, September 23, 2013 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

Deany was born December 8, 1943 in Middletown, IL., the daughter of Richard Raymond Skelton and Mable (Wilson) Skelton. She married Earl Baker on February 14, 1971 in Villa Grove, IL.

She retired from Aramark in 2010 after 15 years of service.

Surviving are her Mother Mable Skelton and Bill; her husband Earl Baker of Middletown; her children: Tony and Dennis McNew of Farina, IL.; Shelly Jackson of Dewitt, IL., Curt Baker of Bloomington, IL., Angie and Joe Walker of Middletown, IL., Kim Baker of Champaign, IL., Ron Baker of Champaign, IL., Mitzi and Rich Schulte of Towanda, IL., Troy Baker of Middletown, IL., Buddy Hill of Springfield, IL., and Candy Hill of Springfield, IL.

Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; her siblings: Dick and Deb Skelton of Lincoln, IL., Ruth Ann and Ernie Hoffert of Middletown, IL., Joe and Kathy Skelton of Lincoln, IL., Jenny and Harold Stout of Middletown, IL., Jackie Poole of Mason City, IL., Carol Renfro of Middletown, IL., Cheryl Himes of Mason City, IL., Sharon Marcum of Washington State, Deb and Bud Frakes of Middletown, IL., Syb and Joe Liesman of Hartsburg, IL., Billy Skelton of Middletown, IL., Kelly and Rick Hoffert of Middletown, IL., Tim and Judy Skelton of Mason City, IL., and Rusty and Stacey Skelton of Middletown, IL.; her faithful canine companion C.C.; her long time friend Barb Bradley of Beardstown, IL., and all kinds of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, her daughter Diana Allen, her son Kenneth Earl Baker, her grandson Justin "Bosco" Wahlsmith, her granddaughter Chasity Wahlsmith, and her siblings Pip Skelton, Patsy Skelton, Kasey Brooks, and Jerry Skelton.

Deany loved cooking and crafts. She loved country music and enjoyed gardening as well as watching and feeding hummingbirds.

Memorial donations may be made to the Baker family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
