The Lynx were led by sophomore Janell Cross (Indianapolis, Ind.), who
netted two goals. The Lynx were able to score twice in the first
half, going into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Despite allowing Culver
Stockton to get on the board in the second half, Lincoln was able to
hold on for the win.
Coach Weekly commented: "We came out pretty slow in the first
half. We had a week off from playing any games, and it showed in the
pace of the first 15 minutes. We were able to capitalize on two good
through balls in the first half. I was pleased with how hard the
ladies worked throughout the game. Several players played the full
90 minutes. I think it was a good opportunity to continue to work on
our match fitness. Janell scored two good goals, and we look to
carry this momentum into our next region game, at Heartland on
Wednesday."
