Chapter members will also sell water and popcorn at the event.

including a free night's stay at Holiday Inn of Lincoln and free tax
preparation from Liberty Tax in Lincoln; small household appliances;
delicious baked goods; a Chicago Bears helmet signed by Michael
Singletary; and a few surprise items in store for attendees.

Brittany Meador, a sophomore from Lincoln and president of Iota
Chi, noted: "Our chapter is extremely excited for our first-ever
quarter auction. We are overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of our
vendors and community businesses who have donated items to be
auctioned."
The chapter is raising funds to help send students to the Phi
Theta Kappa Illinois Regional Leadership Conference/Honors Institute
in Peoria in mid-October. Remaining funds will be donated to
Creekside, Lincoln College's Outdoor Center for Environmental
Education. Last year, Iota Chi raised $1,000 for the purchase of a
recycling center to be installed at Creekside.

Professor Spring Hyde, at 217-871-9639.
