[April 01, 2014]  SPRINGFIELD — Memorial Medical Center will host an interfaith Service of Remembrance on Sunday at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church's Parish Life Center in Springfield.

The service is for families and friends of patients who have died at Memorial Medical Center. The ceremony is also open to parents who have lost a child during pregnancy.

The service was originally scheduled for March 2 but was canceled because of inclement weather.

The service will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the planting of a "memory bush" on the church grounds.

The Service of Remembrance also provides an opportunity for staff and physicians to remember the patients they cared for and to celebrate the lives of those patients with family and friends.
