[April 22, 2014]  ORLANDO, Fla. The Lincoln Community High School Marching Railers became stars of their own Disney show on April 16 when they entertained resort guests at the Magic Kingdom Park. They traveled from Lincoln, Ill. to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to take part in the Disney Performing Arts program.

The Marching Railers, under the direction of David Swaar, marched down Main Street, U.S.A., entertaining Disney guests from around the world.

The band opened for the brand-new Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom Park. Students followed the same route as the Main Street Electrical Parade, passing by the iconic Cinderella Castle and then into Liberty Square and Frontierland. The location gave band members a unique experience and opportunity to shine, while also elevating their performance skills at a high-profile venue.

This was the band's sixth visit to the resort with the Disney performance program. The band first performed there in April 1995.

Vocal, instrumental and dance ensembles from all around the world apply to perform each year as a part of Disney Performing Arts at both the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform for an international audience of theme park guests. Millions of performers have graced the stages of the Disney parks in the more than 25-year history of the program.
