[August 02, 2014]  EMDEN - Charles Joseph “Chuck” Tillman, 75, of Emden, passed away at 6:58 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Service: Will be held at a later date.

Emden- Charles Joseph “Chuck” Tillman, 75, of Emden, passed away at 6:58 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Chuck was born on October 4, 1938, in Clarion, IA, son of Charles and Dorothy Mulhern Tillman. He was united in marriage to Annetta Dirks on November 30, 1960, at the Delavan Methodist Church. She survives him in Emden. Other survivors include his son: Doug (Sonja) Tillman and their children: Valerie (Adam) Bonwell, Melissa Tillman and Megan Backs; Daughter: Dawn Boundy and her children: April (Clint) Schriber, Angela (H.E.) Westen, and Ronica Boundy; Daughter: Diane (Randy) Swart and their children: Devon and Samantha Swart; four great grandchildren; his brothers: Jerry Tillman; Craig Tillman, and his sister: Mary Catherine Fosdyck. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Tom Tillman.

Chuck served in the U.S. Airforce for four years and he served in the U.S. Army for sixteen years. After retiring from the military, Chuck worked as a mechanic and a carpenter.

 

Cremation Rites were accorded. There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

 Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
