Get Covered America hosting outreach booth at Logan County Fair
Staff from Get Covered America will be addressing Logan County residents’ questions about health care coverage provided under the Affordable Care Act

[August 02, 2014]  LINCOLN - This weekend, staff and volunteers from Get Covered America will be present at the Logan County fair to connect with area residents and family about obtaining quality, affordable health care coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Get Covered America is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Americans receive health care coverage made available to them under the Affordable Care Act.

Get Covered America will be talking with Logan County residents about:

• How to access the online Health Insurance Marketplace to learn about the various options for coverage.
   
• The many convenient ways to sign up for health coverage during the next open enrollment period, which runs from November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015
   
• The ability for certain individuals to get health coverage immediately if they qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. The Special Enrollment period allow people with life-changing events—like marriage, moving, having a child, loss of coverage and more—to obtain health coverage during the 60 days following the event.

“As one of the largest fairs in the state, the Logan County Fair is not only a fun opportunity for families and friends to get together, but is also a time for people to learn more about opportunities available to them under the new health care law,” said Get Covered America Organizer and Logan County native, Scott Cross. “I can’t think of a better place to talk to Illinoisans about these benefits, like the financial assistance available and the peace of mind that comes with quality affordable health care.”

Get Covered America will be located in the Grey Door Exhibition Building (behind the grandstand).
