[August 15, 2014]  LINCOLN - The viaduct on S. Kickapoo Street in Lincoln running under the Union Pacific rail line will be closed during the day this Saturday, August 16, 2014, for the re-painting of the mural on the viaduct by the Logan County Arts group.

The viaduct will close at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and will re-open when work is concluded that day.

Anyone interested in assisting with the project should report to the viaduct while work is on-going. Union Pacific completed work on the rail line above the viaduct last year. That work resulted in some damage to portions of the mural which depicts hot air balloons and watermelons. UP then provided funds for the mural to be restored once the work was complete.

[Text received; MAYOR KEITH SNYDER, CITY OF LINCOLN]
